When we arrived at a new client site this month, we were immediately greeted by a common but frustrating scene: their hardwired network was in disarray. Some wall ports weren’t working at all, while others delivered intermittent connections, leaving the business struggling to maintain stable and reliable data flow.

The Requirements

This business, which relies heavily on transmitting large image files, needed a fast and dependable network. Anything less was costing them time, efficiency, and, ultimately, revenue.

The solution

It didn’t take long for our team to identify the problem. The network cabinet was a mess (see the "before" photo to the right!), and the patch panels were a major culprit. Many of the wires were either loosely connected or completely disconnected from their ports, leaving the network unpredictable at best.

Costs

The total for this project was $3,100 + GST and it took a full day onsite.

Implementation 

We understand how important it is to keep disruptions to a minimum, so we scheduled a full day for the job, arriving onsite bright and early at 6:30 AM. This allowed us to get to work without interrupting the client’s daily operations.

Here’s what we tackled:

• Replaced the old patch panels in the network rack.
• Reconnected the existing network cabling to the new patch panels, ensuring each wire was properly punched down.
• Connected the new panels to the network switch, creating a stable and seamless network environment.
• Tested every single connection to the wall ports, ensuring reliability across the board.

Outcome

After a full day of hard work and testing, the results speak for themselves. The network cabinet is now neat, organised, and most importantly, fully operational. Every network port is active, and the client couldn’t be happier with the transformation.
